I came by this book by listening to Jia Tolentino on Ezra Klein’s podcast where she was being interviewed during what I presume was part of the press rounds for this book.
The overarching theme in the book is identity and the way it's constructed, manipulated, altered, flattened, and affected and effected.
I find the topic of identity utterly fascinating especially in our extremely online existence. The very first essay The I in Internet wonderfully captures this sentiment while The Story of a Generation in Seven Scams is another highlight.
